Accessing RefWorks

RefWorks can be accessed from SHU University Libraries homepage under the "Research Tools" on the right navigation bar

Note: You will need our RefWorks group code to access refworks off camus

What IS RefWorks?

RefWorks is a web-based personal bibliographic software manager which is accessible anywhere in the world. It can help you collect and manage citations of books, journal articles, websites, etc. It can also assist you in creating bibliographies in over 200 citation styles, such as MLA, APA, Chicago, etc. A separate add-on module, Write-N-Cite, allows you to create a document in MS Word and dynamically enter citations from your RefWorks database, with your document and bibliography automatically generated in the chosen citation style.

Make your life a little easier and take advantage of RefWorks today!

 

Helpful Hints

Helpful Hints When Using RefWorks:

 

  • Turn Popup Blocker Off!
  •  If you go to refworks.com, then to their list of vendors you can see the list of all the vendors who allow a direct export to RefWorks on their website (you can just check and the website will send it to the program)
  •  You can use Google Scholar! Simply go to Scholar Preferences and you can import your works into RefWorks
