What's new?
We have a new collection of
online books called e-brary.
Check it out! The first time you use it, you'll need to download

studying online! Try out the "search" tab and enter
"nursing".
New nursing books are continually
arriviving .... so come and check them out at the NEW

Seton Hall University Libraries Nursing research guide
Welcome to the University Libraries Nursing research guide. We hope it will bring you and nursing-related resources together, and help you to find and enjoy all that our library has to offer. This guide is a work in progress, and we welcome suggestions for improvement.
Evidence Based Medicine & Evidence Based Nursing Practice
The most common definition of EBM
is taken from Dr. David Sackett's article. "Evidence-based
Medicine: What it is and what it isn't" (BMJ 1996 Jan 13; vol. 312
(7023), pp.71-2). EBM is "the conscientious, explicit and judicious
use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of the
individual patient. It means integrating individual clinical expertise with the
best available external clinical evidence from systematic research."
Evidence-based nursing practice
is "the deliberate and critical use of theories about human beings’
health-related experiences to guide actions associated with each step of the
nursing process".

Practice.
